Why can a notification open an unavailable club item?
A notification can refer to an activity that existed when it was created, while the club item or your access may have changed since then. The alert itself is not a membership grant or a guarantee that the destination remains available. Check that you are signed into the right account, then open the current club and item from its normal route. If the item is still unavailable, ask the club owner/admin to confirm whether access or the item changed. Do not treat an old alert as permission to retrieve private content.

The alert and its destination are different records
An alert can identify a source activity and when it was recorded. It does not prove that the source item still exists or that the current account is authorized to view it.
Recheck the account and current club access
Confirm the signed-in account and open the club through its current entry point. If the destination is unavailable, check whether the item changed or was removed and ask the club owner/admin if the reason is unclear.
An older alert after access changes
Imagine an alert links to a club discussion, but the member later loses access to that club. The alert still describes an earlier activity; it does not restore membership. The member checks the current club access and asks the owner/admin if needed.

Does the notification itself give me access?
No. It points to an activity; the current club access rules and item availability determine whether the destination can be opened.
