What should I check if I enabled a preference but receive no device notification?
A preference and a device alert are separate steps. Check that the right account is active, that the relevant app preference is enabled if one is offered, and that your phone or tablet allows notifications for the app. Also check Focus or Do Not Disturb, silent modes, and whether the source activity still exists. A queued or recorded event does not prove that an operating system displayed a banner. This checklist does not promise delivery or describe a specific BSD settings screen.

Confirm the account and app preference
Make sure the device is signed into the account you expect. If the app offers a preference for that notification type, check its current value and the exact category it controls.
Review device-level notification settings
Confirm the operating system allows notifications for the app, and check Focus, Do Not Disturb, silent mode, and any notification summary or category filters. A device setting can affect whether an alert is shown even when an activity exists.
Verify that the activity still exists
Open the relevant community item through its current route, if available. A recorded notification event and a visible device alert are different things; neither guarantees the other.
An alert is allowed in the app but not shown
Suppose an app preference appears enabled, but a phone shows no banner. The user checks that the right account is active, reviews the phone’s notification permission and Focus settings, then opens the source item to see whether the activity is still available.

Does enabling a preference guarantee a push notification?
No. App preference, operating-system permission, and delivery/display are separate. A setting alone does not guarantee that a device will show an alert.
