How should I retry a profile-photo update that BSD could not confirm?

First check the current profile and the status the product shows. If the saved profile-photo command is still available for the current account, use the current client's recovery path to retry that same command and body. The recorded flow keeps a stable command key with the unchanged photo request; this does not guarantee exactly-once delivery for every app operation or recovery after the saved command is lost.

An uncertain result is not proof of success or failure

A delayed or interrupted response can leave the photo update unconfirmed. Check the profile's current state before starting a different update. The recorded controller keeps a pending command in its local journal, including the original profile, expected revision, photo body, and command key.

If the current client offers recovery and that saved command is still available under the eligible account, retry the saved operation. Do not create a fresh request with a different key merely because the first response was unclear.

Retry the same unchanged command

The retry action runs the persisted command with its original key and body. When a completed receipt is already stored, the controller refreshes the profile and checks the resulting revision before clearing the command; it does not treat an uncertain network response as a confirmed save.

The source requires the pending command and current account state to remain available. It does not promise recovery after local storage loss, reinstall, or for unrelated requests across the app.

Hypothetical: the save response is unclear

Imagine a member submits a profile-photo change, but the response is interrupted before the app can confirm it. The saved command remains available, so the member checks the profile and uses the current recovery path for that same command. The member does not create a second update with a new identity or claim the photo was saved before confirmation.

Should I submit the same photo as a brand-new update?

Not while the original saved command is still pending. The recorded recovery path retries the same unchanged command with its existing key and body.

Does a pending command prove the photo was saved?

No. The source treats an uncertain result as unconfirmed. A bound completion receipt and refreshed profile are needed before the controller marks the update confirmed.
