What can a nearby station's visibility observation establish about the event venue?
It establishes the visibility reported at the bound station and timestamp. It does not establish on-field visibility, what participants could see, or whether play was possible at the venue.

Say where and when the reading was made
A visibility value is an observation from a specific station at a specific time. Keep the station, location precision, timestamp, and unit with the value so the reader can tell what was actually observed.
Even when the station is the nearest one bound to an event, the record is still a station observation. It is not a measurement taken on the field.
Do not convert it into an on-field claim
A station report does not establish what a participant could see from the playing area or whether conditions allowed play. Those are stronger claims than the catalog’s station-visibility question supports.
If the source does not identify a station, timestamp, or unit, say what is missing. Do not fill it with a current visibility value or assume the field matched the station.
Use the observation at its real scope
Describe the reading as station-reported visibility for that observation time. Keep any venue-level conclusion separate unless a source directly supports it. This guide explains evidence scope; it does not promise that a station observation is available for every event.
Hypothetical station report
Fictional example, not current conditions: a nearby station reports a visibility observation at a recorded time. The defensible statement is about that station and time. It does not establish visibility on the event field or what participants could see.

Does the nearest station tell me what players saw?
No. It records the station’s observation, not visibility from the playing area.
Can station visibility prove whether an event was playable?
Not by itself. The station observation does not establish on-field visibility or playability.
