Why look at risk units and ROI alongside a capper win-loss record?

Wins and losses count outcomes, but they do not show how much was risked on each pick. BSD records a pick’s 0.5–5u risk when it is posted and defines ROI as units won divided by units risked. Looking at both measures gives more context about the recorded risk and result; neither predicts a future pick.

Win-loss counts and risk answer different questions

A win-loss-push record counts settled picks by outcome. Risk units describe the amount assigned to those picks in BSD’s record. Two records can have similar outcome counts while representing different amounts of risk, so the count alone does not explain the full accounting picture.

Each pick carries a recorded risk

BSD’s capper rule sets each pick’s risk between 0.5u and 5u and locks it when posted. Profit or loss uses that risk and the price captured with the pick. The recorded risk is part of the pick history, not a suggested stake for someone reading it.

Units ROI relates units won to units risked

BSD defines ROI as units won divided by units risked. It is a ratio of recorded units, not the win percentage. A win count answers how many picks won or lost; units ROI relates the recorded outcome units to the risk units behind them.

Read both measures as historical context

Use the win-loss line to understand outcome counts and the units fields to understand recorded risk and results relative to that risk. These are summaries of past recorded picks. They do not say what a capper will pick next or guarantee a return.

Hypothetical arithmetic: 3 units won on 12 units risked

For arithmetic only, imagine a fictional summary with 12u risked and 3u won. Under BSD’s definition, units ROI is 3 divided by 12, or 25%. A separate win-loss count still describes the number of settled picks in each outcome category. These figures are invented solely for the calculation, not a real capper record or betting recommendation.

Related questions

Is units ROI the same as win percentage?

No. They answer different questions: the record counts outcomes, while BSD defines units ROI as units won divided by units risked.

Does a higher win count always mean a higher units ROI?

Not by itself. Win count and units ROI use different measures, and ROI also depends on recorded units won and units risked.

Does a capper’s recorded risk tell me what to stake?

No. The units are part of that pick’s record, not a recommendation for a reader’s wager.
