How can an owner reopen a closed free club?

An owner reopens a closed free club by changing that same club's lifecycle state back to active through the owner lifecycle action. Read the current state first and use its current revision; the existing service rejects stale state changes. Creating the club again does not reactivate it. After reopening, account, profile, and member access restrictions still apply. The backend source confirms this lifecycle, not a universal app button or screen path.

Check the club's saved state before acting

The owner lifecycle read returns the club's current state and revision from its stored record. If you come back to BSD after closing the app, check that current state instead of relying on a remembered screen or an earlier response.

Only the current owner can read this lifecycle state. A new app session does not itself reopen the club or change its saved state.

Use the existing owner lifecycle action

The lifecycle operation supports changing the existing club between active and closed. To reopen, the owner requests the active state using the current revision. If the revision changed, refresh the state and make a current request rather than repeating an old one.

Creating again is not a recovery shortcut. The club is still the existing profile-linked record, and a closed record is not recreated by the create operation.

Reopening does not override other access checks

An active lifecycle state lets the club pass that part of the access check. It does not bypass current account, profile, or member restrictions. Each reader's access is still evaluated under the current club rules.

The source establishes the owner state change but does not guarantee that every former member's previous content access or role returns unchanged.

Hypothetical: an owner returns to a closed club

Imagine an owner closes a free club, exits BSD, and later checks its saved lifecycle state. The state still reads closed. If the current product offers the owner lifecycle control and the owner passes current checks, the owner can request active state using the latest revision. The owner does not create a second club, and reopening does not bypass member restrictions.

Related questions

Can I create the club again to reopen it?

No. The current free-club create operation does not reactivate an existing closed record. Reopening uses the existing owner's lifecycle action.

Will former members automatically regain access?

Not necessarily. Reopening changes the club's lifecycle state, while each member's current account, profile, and access conditions are still checked.
