If a market is missing from a Live board, does that mean the outcome cannot happen?

No. A Live board is a view of the markets it can show, not a forecast of every possible event result. If a market or outcome is absent, the list alone does not say that the result is impossible or has a zero chance. It also does not prove that every sportsbook lacks the market. Treat an absent row as missing listing or quote information until the board or sportsbook gives a specific reason. For example, DraftKings defines its “Off the Board” status as a scheduled game that is not currently accepting bets, often because the line is not yet available. That is DraftKings’ stated meaning for an explicit status; it should not be inferred from any blank row. Check the operator’s event page and market terms for the exact availability and rules.

A market list is not a probability forecast

A listing tells you what a particular page is showing. A probability estimate would require information about the outcome’s chance, and an absent listing supplies no such estimate. You cannot turn “not shown” into “cannot happen.”

The same distinction applies to price information: if no price is displayed, the page has not supplied a quote you can compare. The absence says something about the information available in that view, not the likely result of the game.

Absence alone does not identify the reason

A board may check only a bounded set of markets or outcomes for a particular event and source. The exact selection might not be in that checked catalogue, its identity might be unclear, or a current quote might not be confirmed. Those are coverage or quote conditions; they do not measure the event’s chances.

A missing row also does not establish that another sportsbook does or does not list the same market. Confirm the specific event, market, and operator before drawing a conclusion about availability.

Use an explicit status on its own terms

A named status can carry a defined meaning for the sportsbook that uses it. DraftKings says “Off the Board” means a scheduled game is not currently accepting bets and notes that a line is often not available yet. That definition belongs to DraftKings; do not apply it to a blank row or assume another operator uses the same label.

A market that is not listed

Suppose a live page shows a game and a winner market but no total-points market. The safe conclusion is that this page is not showing a total-points quote. The missing row does not tell you whether the final score will be above or below a line, what the outcome’s probability is, or whether another sportsbook lists a total.

Related questions

Does a missing selection mean its probability is zero?

No. A missing selection is not a probability measurement. The listing alone cannot tell you how likely an event outcome is.

Is a blank market the same as “Off the Board”?

No. “Off the Board” is an explicit status with a sportsbook-specific definition. A blank or missing row does not establish that status.
