What should I check before sending a private saved-report link in a conversation?
Before sending a saved-report link, check that the report is intended for that recipient and that the recipient can open it using their own current account access. A private conversation can carry text or a link, but it does not grant permission to the underlying report or make private source material public. If you cannot confirm the recipient should see it, share only material already meant to be public. The message source does not promise a link will open for every recipient.

Decide who should be able to see the report
Check the report's audience and the recipient you intend to contact before sending. A conversation request or message is not a substitute for deciding whether the saved report is appropriate to share.
If the report contains private details or source material, do not copy those details into a broader conversation just because the recipient can receive a message.
A link does not change the report's access rules
A URL in message text is still only a reference. The saved report keeps its own account and source authority, so the recipient's current access determines whether it can be read.
A report that is private, deleted, withheld, or otherwise unavailable does not become readable because its link was sent in a conversation. Do not promise that the recipient can open it.
Hypothetical: a recipient cannot open a saved report
Imagine a member wants to send a saved report link to another person. Before sending, the member checks that the report is meant for that person. If the recipient's account lacks current access, the conversation link does not grant it; the sender shares only a public summary instead of copying private report details.

Does sending a report link give the recipient permission to read it?
No. A message link does not change the report's own access rules. The recipient must have current authorization to open it.
Should I paste private report contents into the conversation if the link fails?
Only share material intended for that recipient. A link failure is not permission to copy private source details into a conversation.
