Why does History keep a later response correction alongside an earlier answer?

History keeps both because the earlier response records what BSD received before the ticket's recorded placement, while the current response is a later revision. Showing both makes the reported chronology visible. Neither user-reported response is independent proof of what happened, and the record does not claim to be tamper-proof.

A correction adds context to the earlier response

A response can be revised after an earlier response was saved. When History has both a response received before the recorded placement and a different current revision, it can label that a later correction was retained alongside the earlier response.

This lets a reader distinguish the earlier report from the current one instead of mistaking them for a single unchanged answer. The word later describes the response revision relative to the earlier record; it does not by itself say that the correction was submitted after the ticket was placed.

Use the revision and received time to read the sequence

History displays each response's received time and revision. The before-placement field is selected using when BSD received the response compared with the recorded placement time. Current recollection shows the current response and its own timing label when available.

A claimed viewing or decision time may also appear as part of a response. It is a user-reported recollection; it does not change the received time or the rule that determines whether a response was recorded before placement.

A retained correction is not an independent ruling

Both responses are self-reported. Retaining two revisions shows what was recorded in the response history, not which report is true. The correction flag does not prove that the person opened the Grade, followed its advice or placed a wager.

An app-display receipt is a separate client-reported signal. Even when it exists, it does not establish that the person read or acted on the Grade. Do not treat response history as sportsbook settlement evidence.

Respect missing timing and record limits

If the ticket's recorded placement time is missing, History cannot classify the responses as before or after placement. If an earlier response was not recorded, it cannot be reconstructed from the current recollection alone.

The correction display describes the response records returned for that saved Grade. It does not promise that every interaction or previous thought was captured, and it does not claim that the history can never change.

Illustrative correction chronology

Imagine a hypothetical user report received before the recorded placement says Reported unseen. A later response revision says Reported viewed and gives a different decision. History can retain the earlier response beside the current one, with their received times and revisions. That preserves what was reported; it does not decide what the person actually saw or did. No actual account or wager is represented.

Related questions

Does later correction mean the correction happened after the wager?

Not necessarily. Later identifies a response revision relative to the earlier response. Read the current response's timing label and the recorded placement time separately.

Does keeping both answers mean the record is tamper-proof?

No such guarantee is made. History shows the earlier response and later correction that its current record provides; it does not claim that every prior interaction is captured or that the history can never change.
