What is the difference between Exposure unknown and Decision unknown in History responses?
Exposure describes whether the response reports the Grade as unseen or viewed. Decision describes what the response reports about the advice: followed, modified, rejected, or unknown. These are separate user-reported fields. Exposure unknown does not mean unseen, and Decision unknown does not mean the advice was ignored, followed, or rejected. Read each field on its own and keep unknown values unresolved.
For Bettors reviewing a saved Grade response in History · Updated
Exposure is about reported viewing
The exposure field records a reported state: unseen, viewed, or unknown. History displays Exposure unknown when the saved response does not state whether the Grade was viewed.
That label does not prove the Grade was unopened or unnoticed. It only preserves the reported exposure value available in the response.
Decision is about the reported response to advice
The decision field records followed, modified, rejected, or unknown. A saved response can say the Grade was viewed while leaving the decision unknown, because seeing advice and deciding what to do with it are different facts.
Both fields come from a user-reported response, not an independent observation. A reported decision does not verify a wager or outcome.
- Exposure unknown is not the same as reported unseen.
- Decision unknown is not evidence of ignoring or following advice.
- Do not use one field to fill an unknown value in the other.
Keep both unknowns separate
History preserves uncertainty independently. If exposure is unknown and decision is unknown, the timeline does not establish whether the person saw the Grade or what they did about its advice.
Use the recorded values as reported and avoid drawing a conclusion that the response did not provide.
A viewed response with no stated decision
Hypothetically, a saved response says Reported viewed and Decision unknown. The first field records reported exposure; the second leaves the action unknown. It would be inaccurate to conclude from that pair that the bettor followed, modified, or rejected the advice.
