Why can Recorded before placement and Current recollection show different responses?

They refer to different response snapshots. Recorded before placement is the response BSD received before the ticket's recorded placement time; Current recollection is the current user-reported response saved for that Grade. The later report can differ, and neither response independently verifies what happened.

For BSD readers comparing the response history attached to a saved Grade · Updated

One is a before-placement snapshot; one is the current report

Recorded before placement preserves the response revision BSD received before the recorded placement time. Current recollection shows the current response revision associated with that saved Grade. History can display both so their timing and contents remain distinguishable.

The response fields describe what was reported about exposure and decision. They are not an automatic reading receipt or a sportsbook record. If no response was recorded, History displays the response as Unknown rather than filling in an answer.

Compare when each response reached BSD

Each response has a received time and a revision number. The before-placement response is selected from response revisions received before the placement time in the record. Current recollection uses the latest response saved for the report, with its own received time and revision.

History can also show a recalled viewing or decision time when the response includes one. That time is a user-reported recollection. The before-placement cutoff uses when the response reached BSD; a later claimed time does not move a response into the earlier record.

A difference does not resolve which account is correct

The labels help you see that the reports were saved at different times. A later response may report a different exposure or decision from the response captured before placement. History retains that distinction; it does not establish why the answers differ or verify either account independently.

Neither response alone proves the Grade was opened, the ticket was placed or the advice was followed. A separate app-display receipt may be present, but it too does not establish that the person read or acted on the Grade.

Keep unknown timing visible

If placement time is unavailable, the response timing cannot be compared with placement and History identifies timing as unknown. If there is no response, its content is also unknown. Do not infer an answer from a later recollection, a Grade's existence or a changed-ticket reference.

Illustrative response comparison

In a hypothetical record, a response received before the recorded placement says Reported unseen and Decision unknown. A later current response says Reported viewed and Followed. History can show the two received times and revisions; it cannot verify that either report describes the person's actions. No actual bettor, Grade or wager is represented.

Related questions

Does Current recollection overwrite the earlier response?

History can retain the earlier before-placement response alongside the current response. The two fields describe different response revisions and times.

Is a recalled viewing time the same as an app-display receipt?

No. A recalled time is included in a user-reported response. An app-display receipt is a separate client-reported record, and neither proves the person read or followed the Grade.
