How can I see older club activity in BSD, and is the inbox a permanent archive?
When the inbox offers Show more, use it to request an older page. The inbox retains the newest 1,000 activity rows across categories, so it is not a permanent archive or a promise of a particular time window. Those 1,000 rows are not necessarily 1,000 club items. Current authorization still applies, and a page snapshot can expire; refresh may be needed before continuing.

Use Show more when an older page is available
The notification list provides a Show more action when another page is available. It follows a cursor for the current inbox snapshot rather than searching an unlimited history. If the snapshot expires or changes, the request can fail and the inbox may ask you to refresh.
After refreshing, check whether Show more is available again. A successful request only gives you the older page returned under the current account and access rules; it does not guarantee that every past club interaction will appear.
- Use Show more only when it is offered.
- If the page is stale or unavailable, refresh and review the current list.
The inbox is not a complete club archive
The recorded retention rule keeps the newest 1,000 activity rows across inbox categories. That cap is a row count, not a count of club notifications, and it does not translate into a fixed number of days or months. Replies and likes are only part of the activity represented by the inbox.
Membership, moderation, mute preferences, source eligibility, and retention can affect which club items remain visible. Treat the list as the activity currently available to this account, not as proof that no older interaction ever occurred.
Looking beyond the first inbox page
Imagine a fictional member sees a free-club reply near the top of the inbox and a Show more button below it. The member requests the next page while the snapshot is still valid. If the cursor has expired, they refresh and inspect the list again; they do not assume the inbox contains every older club interaction.

Does 1,000 rows mean 1,000 club notifications?
No. The retention cap applies to activity rows across categories, not just club items.
Why might Show more require a refresh?
The older-page cursor is tied to an inbox snapshot and can expire or change. Refresh to check what is currently available.
