How can I avoid adding the same club event to my calendar twice?
Before adding a club event to a personal calendar, check whether you already saved the same event. Use its event ID when your current client shows it; a later revision means the same event was edited, not that a second event was created. A title alone is not a reliable identity. The recorded service does not establish automatic synchronization with personal calendars, so update your existing entry yourself when the event changes.

Match the event identity, not only the title
The event service returns a stable event ID. If that ID is visible in the current product, compare it with the event you already put on your calendar before creating another entry.
Two different events can use similar titles. If the ID is not shown to you, compare the host club, date, time and timezone and verify the event details before adding a second copy.
A higher revision means the same event changed
When an organizer edits an event, the recorded service updates its details under the same event ID and increments the revision. A changed start time or newer revision is a reason to update the existing calendar item, not automatically add a new one.
If the event is canceled, check its current state and update or remove the personal entry you control.
Manage external calendar copies yourself
The cited event service stores event details and revisions; it does not establish personal-calendar synchronization or duplicate suppression. If you added the item manually, keep one entry for that event and edit it when the current event details change.
Do not assume a BSD RSVP automatically creates, updates, or removes a calendar entry.
Hypothetical: the same event has a newer revision
Imagine a member already has an event on a personal calendar. The current BSD event view shows the same event ID with a newer revision and a changed start time. The member edits the existing calendar entry instead of adding another copy, and does not assume the change synced automatically.

Does a new event revision mean there is a new event?

Will BSD remove a duplicate calendar entry for me?
The cited event source does not establish personal-calendar synchronization or duplicate removal. Manage entries in the calendar you control.
