What should I check when an event I planned to attend is canceled?
Check the event's current status and update time in the latest details. In the recorded event service, cancellation marks the event canceled, clears its joining URL, and removes its RSVP status from the projected event; canceled events are excluded from the ordinary event list. Confirm the current event state
A canceled event is represented by a canceled state and a newer revision. Check the current event details rather than relying on an earlier RSVP or calendar copy.
The service retains a canceled event detail as a tombstone, while its ordinary event list excludes canceled items. A stale link or previous response is not proof that the event is still scheduled.
Do not rely on an old event link or RSVP
When cancellation is recorded, the projected event has no joining URL and no going RSVP status. That helps prevent an old event detail from looking like a current invitation.
The service does not say that cancellation deletes every stored RSVP record or removes a copy from your own calendar, so do not assume either action happened.
Keep your personal calendar under your control
If you manually copied the event to an external calendar, remove or mark that entry canceled using the calendar you control. The event source does not establish automatic calendar synchronization or reminder cleanup.
