Why is my Following feed empty after following a capper?

A follow and a visible feed are separate things to check. The follow may still need confirmation, the Following feed may have no visible posts from people you follow, or the feed may have failed to load. A capper's member-only club content also has separate access rules. An empty Following feed alone does not tell you which explanation applies.

For BSD members who followed a capper but cannot see the public posts they expected · Updated

First check whether the follow was confirmed

Return to the same author's follow control. BSD checks the current follow status after a change. Confirmed controls can say Following or Unfollow author, depending on where you opened them. A checking or retry state is different from a confirmed relationship.

If the control says that a follow change could not be confirmed, use the offered retry for that same action. You do not need to unfollow and follow again to diagnose a missing feed. Until the status is confirmed, keep the relationship itself unconfirmed.

Then read the actual Following result

Open Tail and choose Following in the existing row. For you is a different community view. A working For you feed does not by itself establish that your follow change succeeded or that a particular author has a visible public post for Following.

A normal empty Following view says there is nothing from people you follow yet and may offer Find tipsters. Use that to discover other public authors if you want. If the feed offers Older or More posts, continue through that control before treating the visible page as the end of the list.

  • Confirm the relationship at the intended author's control.
  • Select Following rather than relying on a different feed's contents.
  • Read whether the result is empty, unavailable or stale.
  • Use an offered older-posts or more-posts control when there is another page.

An error does not confirm an empty feed

Feed unavailable means the read could not be completed. Use Retry feed to check it again. That message does not establish that the capper has no public posts or that your follow was removed.

A refresh can also fail while older posts remain on screen. BSD can mark that feed stale and offer Refresh feed. Read retained posts as the last available view, not proof of the latest state. If loading an older page fails, retry that page or refresh as offered; the failed page is not a confirmed end of history.

Check whether you expected public posts or club content

Following an author does not grant membership in their club or make member-only discussion part of a public feed. If the content you expected belongs to a club, open that club through Clubs where available and check its own current membership and access state.

Do not interpret an empty Following view as a request to buy access. Free clubs and paid club access have separate rules, and paid checkout or activation is not a fix established by this guide. First identify whether the missing item was supposed to be a public post, then resolve the corresponding follow, feed or club status.

Illustrative example: the follow worked, but the feed could not refresh

A bettor follows an author and later sees Following at that author's control. In Tail, however, the feed says Feed unavailable. The useful next action is Retry feed: the failed read says nothing about whether the author has public posts. If the author instead shared something inside a club, that club's own access must be checked separately. This is a fictional troubleshooting sequence, not an observed customer account or a claim about a real capper's posts.

Related questions

Does an empty Following feed mean I stopped following the capper?

The empty feed alone does not establish your follow state. Check the same author's current follow control. Resolve an unconfirmed change there, and diagnose a feed error at the feed's retry control.

Why can I see a public author in For you but not in Following?

They are different feed views. Check whether your follow of that author was confirmed, whether Following loaded successfully, and whether there are more pages. Seeing a post elsewhere does not identify the cause of a missing Following result.

Does following someone guarantee a regular stream of posts?

No. Following does not promise a posting schedule or a supply of visible public posts. Member-only club content remains governed by that club's current access.
