Why does Doctor ask me to turn on AI replies before sending my question?
Doctor can hold a message when your saved AI replies preference is off. The question stays as a local held request instead of being treated as accepted research. If you choose to enable AI replies and that preference saves, Doctor resumes the held send once, so you do not need to press Send repeatedly. You control that choice, and other access or request checks may still stop it. Reading a saved Grade is a separate action. A Grade is a second opinion, not a pick.
For BSD readers who see an AI replies prompt after trying to send a Doctor question. · Updated
The prompt is about your AI replies choice
When Doctor's saved AI replies setting is off, the send flow holds the message before it starts a Doctor turn. This gives you a choice about AI replies rather than sending the question first and asking afterward.
If you enable it and the save succeeds, the held send resumes
Choosing the existing AI replies control saves the preference. When that save succeeds, Doctor resumes the held request once. You do not need to tap Send again; repeatedly pressing it can create confusion about which request is active.
- Read the prompt and choose whether to enable AI replies.
- Wait for the preference save and the held request to continue.
- If another access, account or request check blocks the turn, follow that message rather than assuming research started.
Reading a saved report is not the same as sending a question
The AI replies consent check is applied to a Doctor send. Opening a saved Grade report is a separate read action; this prompt does not mean you must enable replies merely to inspect a report already saved.
Hypothetical example: let the saved choice resume one message
Suppose you type a Doctor question while AI replies are off and a consent prompt appears. If you decide to turn replies on and the preference saves, Doctor resumes that held question once. You do not need to send the same text again. If the save fails or another check blocks the request, do not treat it as an accepted consultation. This is a synthetic flow example, not a real request.

No. When the preference save succeeds, the held request resumes once automatically.
Does the prompt prevent me from reading a saved Grade?
No. This consent gate is for sending a Doctor message; reading a saved report is separate.
