Can I copy a Doctor answer without posting the conversation to Tail?
Yes. The Doctor reply's Copy action puts its displayed text on your device clipboard; it does not post the conversation to Tail. A separate Post to Tail action opens the share flow when the saved exchange is supported, including a paired question and reply. Copying does not guarantee that clipboard contents are private from other apps or later pastes, so treat the copied text as available to the device clipboard until replaced. A Grade is a second opinion, not a pick.

Copy sends the displayed reply to your clipboard
Choose Copy from a Doctor answer's actions to place its text on the device clipboard. That action does not create a Tail post or share the full conversation by itself. You can paste the copied text into another app, so review where you paste it.
Posting to Tail is a different action
When a saved exchange can be shared, Doctor offers a separate Post to Tail action. It opens a compose route using the question and reply for that exchange. An answer without a supported question-and-reply pair is not a valid exchange to prepare. Choose the Tail action and continue through its sharing flow if you intend to post.
Clipboard copy is not a privacy guarantee
Copy keeps the operation separate from publishing, but copied text can be available to clipboard readers or exposed if you paste it elsewhere. Do not treat Copy as a secure or private storage vault.
Hypothetical example: keep a reply for your own notes
Suppose you want to quote one Doctor explanation in your personal notes but do not want to post it to Tail. Choose Copy, then paste the text only where you intend. Do not choose Post to Tail unless you want to open the separate sharing flow for a supported exchange. This is a synthetic example, not a real conversation or post.
