What should I confirm before accepting a club staff invitation?
Before accepting, confirm that the invitation targets the profile you control, names the club you expect, and offers the role you intend to take. BSD staff invitations propose either moderator or admin; those roles carry different permissions. Check that the invitation is still pending and current, and review its expiry state before accepting. The invitation does not accept itself or guarantee that your current account and club state will still qualify when the action is processed.

Match the invitation to your profile and club
Check the recipient profile carefully, especially if you manage more than one profile. Confirm the club name and that the invitation is meant for that club. BSD binds an invitation to a target profile and club, so an invitation for a different profile or club is not interchangeable.
Understand the role before you accept it
Staff invitations offer moderator or admin. A moderator can read, post, and moderate club content. An admin also has configure permission. Neither role includes the owner-only ability to manage staff. Accept only if the proposed responsibility matches what you expect to do.
Check that the invitation is still current
Review the invitation’s current state and expiry information. Acceptance requires a pending invitation at its current revision, and BSD rechecks the target’s current eligibility and club restrictions when processing the action. If the state is unclear or has changed, refresh the invitation details and ask the club owner before trying again.
Hypothetical example: confirming an admin invitation
A fictional club member is invited as an admin. Before accepting, they verify the invitation is for their intended profile and the correct club, then check that admin’s configuration permissions are expected. They confirm the invitation is still pending and current before taking the accept action.
