What do Pending review, In review, Decision upheld, Decision dismissed and Appealed mean in BSD?
These labels describe a free-club content case's current review state. Pending review means it is waiting for a reviewer; In review means a reviewer claimed it; Decision upheld or Decision dismissed records the review outcome; Appealed means an affected person filed an appeal. A report is an allegation, not proof. None of the labels promises a review deadline or a future result.

Pending review and In review describe progress
Pending review means the report has a saved case but no reviewer has claimed that review. It confirms a submitted case, not that the reported post violated a rule.
In review means an authorized reviewer claimed the case and is handling it. It does not mean the reviewer has decided the allegation. No estimated completion time follows from either status.
Decision upheld and Decision dismissed describe the recorded outcome
Decision upheld means the review upheld the report and applied the corresponding moderation action to the content. Decision dismissed means the report was not upheld in that review. A dismissed case does not establish that every separate report or policy review reached the same conclusion.
A decision is a record of this case's review, not proof that every claim made in the report was true. Check the current case status and any available notice rather than inferring details that the label does not show.
Appealed means a challenge was submitted
Appealed means the person affected by a decision submitted an appeal. It marks that appeal was filed against the current decision; it is not the final outcome of the appeal. A later review can produce its own decision, and the label does not predict that result.
Appeal entry is shown only when the current case says it can be appealed and identifies the decision. The source does not promise that every case is eligible or that every viewer sees an appeal control.
Use the current case state, not assumptions about timing
The status card reads the current authorized case projection. If it reports the state as unavailable, that is not the same as Decision dismissed. Refresh the saved case where available or contact BSD support with the case reference.
A report is a request for review. A status can describe intake, reviewer handling, a decision or an appeal stage; it cannot promise when the next stage occurs or what the next decision will be.
Hypothetical: from submission to appeal status
Suppose a member reports a post in a free club. The case first shows Pending review. After a reviewer claims it, the status changes to In review. A later Decision upheld label means the report was upheld and the moderation action applied. If the person affected by that decision submits an appeal, the case shows Appealed while the appeal awaits its own review. These labels tell the reader which stage is recorded; they do not predict how that appeal will end.

Does Pending review mean BSD confirmed that a rule was broken?
No. It means a report has a pending case. A reviewer has not yet recorded an outcome.
Does Appealed mean the original decision was overturned?
No. It means an appeal was submitted. The appeal has a separate review and its own decision; the label does not reveal its result.
