Does a Tail post without a result stamp count as a loss?

No. A result stamp requires a returned BSD outcome tied to the exact post ID. If no stamp appears, the outcome is unknown from that view; it is not a loss, win, push or void by default. Missing, withheld or failed result data does not tell you why a particular post has no stamp.

For BSD readers who see a Tail post without a win, loss, push or void stamp · Updated

The stamp comes from an admitted result for that post

Tail's result response contains separate result entries with a post ID and one of four stored outcomes. The app validates those entries and filters them against the requested post IDs before using them. A stamp is therefore about a matching result object, not merely the existence of a shared post.

If the matching entry is absent, there is no outcome in that response to label. A missing visual stamp must remain unresolved until the source returns a valid result.

  • Check whether a result is present for the exact post ID.
  • Do not translate an absent stamp into a loss or zero.
  • Do not assume a cause or turnaround time for missing data.

Unavailable data is not a result category

A result may be absent from a particular response for reasons the view does not establish. A withheld response or a refresh failure also does not assign an outcome. The exact record source must return an admitted win, loss, push or void before a result label can be applied.

Keep the post separate from settled result counts while its outcome is absent. Do not invent a reason for a specific reader's missing stamp or assume a grading deadline.

Illustrative example: an unstamped post stays unresolved

Imagine a fictional Tail post is visible but the result response contains no entry for its post ID. The reader leaves the outcome unresolved and does not add a loss to a count. If a later response contains a matching admitted outcome, the result can then be read from that record. This example does not describe a real post or promise when an update will arrive.

Related questions

Does no stamp mean the result was zero?

No. No stamp means that view has no admitted outcome for the post. It does not establish a zero result or any win-loss category.

Can I assume the result is still being graded?

Not from the missing stamp alone. The view does not identify the cause or promise a grading turnaround.
