Why are net units and Return different on the same Tail result?
Tail Return is gross return in units, while net units are the result after accounting for the reference stake. The stored relationship is gross return units = reference stake units + net units. A zero-net result can therefore show Return equal to the reference stake without showing a net gain.

Net measures the result; Return includes the stake
The Tail result keeps reference stake, net units and gross return units as separate amounts. Net units show the recorded result after the reference stake; Return is the gross amount in units. The calculation is reference stake plus net units equals gross return.
That is why a positive net result has a Return larger than net units by the reference stake. Return is not another name for profit, and the Tail result explicitly is not a personal cash payout.
- Compare the same result's reference stake, net units and Return.
- Read values marked in units as BSD record amounts, not as your cash balance.
- Do not treat gross return as net profit or sportsbook settlement proof.
A zero-net result can still show Return
When net units are zero, gross return equals the reference stake under this result model. So a PUSH or VOID may display a Return amount even though the net result is zero. That field relationship does not determine what an external sportsbook did or what cash a reader received.
A loss is represented differently: the stored result has zero gross return units and negative net units. Read the outcome label with the amounts instead of interpreting Return by itself.
Illustrative arithmetic: net units plus reference stake
For a fictional Tail result with a 2u reference stake and +1u net, gross Return is 3u: 2u + 1u = 3u. For a fictional zero-net result with the same 2u reference stake, Return is 2u: 2u + 0u = 2u. These unit examples explain the stored calculation only; they are not actual capper results or cash payouts.

Does Return mean the amount I won?
No. Tail Return is gross return in BSD units and includes the reference stake. It is different from net units and does not confirm a personal sportsbook payout.
Why can Return be positive when net units are zero?
Gross return equals reference stake plus net units. With zero net, gross return equals the reference stake; that does not represent a net gain.
