Why does my changed club description not appear publicly yet?
Saving a club description does not automatically approve it for public display. In the club settings workflow, new or changed settings are pending until reviewed, while public summaries use approved settings. Check that the latest text was saved and which version is awaiting review. A successful save alone is not evidence that visitors can see the changed description.
For Cappers and club admins checking a submitted club description · Updated
Separate the text you submitted from the text visitors can see
There are three useful questions: Did the change save? Is the current version pending or approved? Does the public summary show that version? Answering the first question does not answer the other two.
The club's management settings can contain a pending description that is excluded from the public summary. Do not assume the public page will preserve the previous description exactly while a replacement is pending; the source does not provide that guarantee.
Compare the latest saved version before submitting again
Use the current management view available to the club owner or admin. Compare the saved description with the wording you intended to submit, then compare it with the public summary. Keep the distinction between a save error, a pending review and a public display mismatch.
- If the changed text was not saved, resolve the save problem before diagnosing publication.
- If the latest saved text is pending, review has not yet admitted that version to the public summary.
- If the app says the settings changed elsewhere, reload the current version before trying another edit.
- If the current version is approved but the public wording still differs, provide support with the club reference, intended text and approximate change time.
Another edit creates another version to review
Changing the description again returns the changed settings to pending. Repeated saves do not establish approval, and an earlier review cannot approve text that was changed afterward. Review is tied to the current submitted version.
A club moderator's content-management role does not automatically grant permission to edit the club's settings. This settings workflow is for club owners and admins. No approval deadline or guaranteed review outcome is promised here.
A description is separate from access and payment availability
Use these steps where club settings are available to your account. An approved description does not, by itself, activate private access, enable purchases or establish the terms of a paid offer. Check the actual availability shown in the product before directing someone to join or pay.
Hypothetical: three labels for a description change
Imagine a capper changes a description from 'Community discussion' to 'Community discussion and weekly questions.' Call the intended edit Submitted, the saved version awaiting review Pending, and a reviewed version Approved. These are illustrative labels, not a claim about exact screen wording. If the new wording is saved but pending, its absence from the public summary does not prove the save failed. The capper checks the latest text once and keeps the club reference. If they change the wording again, the new version needs its own review.
Related questions
Can a successful save confirmation prove the public description changed?
No. It establishes that the settings change was saved. Public summaries only admit approved settings, so check the current review state and the public text separately.
Does approval of my description mean my club can accept payments?
No. Description review and payment availability are separate. This guide does not announce payment activation or promise that a paid offer can be purchased.
