Closing changes the free club's state
The free-club lifecycle is a state change between active and closed, controlled by the current owner. A closed club is not available through the ordinary club reads. The owner can check its lifecycle state and make a separate explicit change if reopening is appropriate.

- Check the current state rather than relying on an old announcement.
Account deletion has a separate scope
Account deletion is an account-level request with its own status and erasure work. It is not created by changing a club to closed. If the goal is to remove an account, follow the current account-deletion flow and read its confirmation and status rather than assuming a club change handled it.
Name the outcome before you act
Decide whether you want to pause the free club or request account deletion. Keep those steps and their confirmations separate. If a paid offer, payment, or refund question is also involved, check its current status through the applicable support path; the free-club lifecycle state does not answer that question.
